I have a huge passion for teaching and ensuring the children are confident, capable, independent learners by the time they are ready to transition to school. I love watching the children grow and actively seeking information throughout their play.

I have been with Little Waikato Scholars for roughly 5 years. I have a degree through the University
of Waikato for a Bachelor of teaching ECE. I have a great passion in arts and crafts and really enjoy
incorporating different techniques and mediums into my teachings. My philosophy of teaching is to
provide children with the best possible start in life, helping them meet their fullest potential. I
believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating
atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. My
favourite whakatauki/proverb is “Ahakoa he iti, he pounamu, meaning no matter how small, you are
precious” I think of it as showing that all children are precious no matter their situation and that all
children deserve to be included and provided with equal opportunities in education.
