    Dramatic Play

The children are able to express through drama. Having props out for the older children helps them to express themselves and take on roles that they may not generally want to do. It is also giving the children the confidence to be able to think about the wider world of literacy and make sense of the working world through speech and drama.

    Auckland Zoo Trip

What a fabulous trip to the Auckland zoo we had, we got to visit the animals that we had been learning about in the classroom.

On our trip we hopped on the Bus from “GO Bus”  and headed off with heaps of parent help from our Mums and Dads to our Nana and Poppa. We all  had a fantastic day and on the trip home we slept and so did some of our parents.

    Grass heads

The children are making grass heads with old stockings. What a great activity to enhance their concept about how to look after plants.

    Outside

The children are loving this beautiful warm weather, with such a huge outdoor play area the children are able to freely explore and learn with each other.

    Inside

The children have been busy inside, from reading stories to each other, to working with and alongside each other, to being creative with the screen printing equipment, practicing their scissors skills to drawing freely on the black board.

Here at the centre all the children are able to interact with each other, this is important for the growth and development of children. Being able to see your sister/brother, cousin or very close family friend helps to keep the ties that the children are developing out in the wider world in today’s society.

Exploring the wider world of architecture, here the children are able to build freely and create their own masterpieces. Having the freedom to look beyond the norm incorporates so many more learning opportunities. With the carpentry area taking on a new look the children are building some amazing creations.

Children are able to freely explore the play ground and make sense of the working world around them. What they do inside they are able to carry on with it in the playground finding new ways to adapt the learning they are doing.

Children are able to test themselves to see how far they can go, having the playground set up t challenge the children encourages them to gain self confidence and control of their own bodies and mind.

The children are getting ready to put on a performance of Goldilocks and the three little pigs. They have been performing this every afternoon, to make sure that they know their lines.

What a great way to build up self confidence and develop the skill of memory recall.

The children love to do gardening, here they are planting the seed to grow their own grass that they will then use to practise their fine motor skills with scissors to cut the grass.
